The tooth design allows a quick, positive lock that is easy to release, add this to its low profile and ability to hold high loads, it makes an ideal cleat for adjusting leech lines on larger sails. Use a back plate when riveting a cleat onto fabric to prevent the rivet pulling through. It can be mounted in two positions and can be sewn or riveted to the sail. Manufactured from aluminum for light weight and durable performance the CL258 & CL259 are available in two finishes: 1. CL258 & CL 259 have a silver stove enamel finish for a cost effective, high quality coating. 2. CL258AN & CL 259AN have a hard anodized finish to give the ultimate hard wearing surface. The nylon version of this cleat is the the CL212. For the other side of a sail please look at the CL259
